Offline Serialization

Authenticate your products, without disrupting packaging lines. By serializing secondary packaging at the folding-box supplier, you gain a secure, flexible alternative to inline serialization.

Secure serialization without impacting packaging line performance.

Integrating serialization equipment into existing packaging lines can be costly, risky, and disruptive. Offline serialization solves these challenges by authenticating medicines while keeping packaging lines efficient and unchanged.

Benefits

Keep your packaging lines running

Avoid adding printers, cameras, or ejectors to your existing packaging. Maintain existing efficiency and throughput while reducing disruption to operations.

Avoid duplicate or conflicting codes

Unique-code logic helps prevent serial numbers from being reused or duplicated, helping you maintain compliance and avoid costly errors.

Keep product and patients secure

Support product safety with tamper-evidence and additional security features, helping safeguard patients and maintain trust across your supply chain.

Receive packaging ready for use

Use pre-serialized folding boxes produces through validated printing processes to reduce complexity and accelerate implementation timelines.

Improve code readability and scanning

High-contrast, OCR-friendly codes improve readability and scanning reliability, supporting consistent performance across global markets.

Improve efficiency on the packaging floor

With no serialization hardware required on your lines, you can reduce additional line-clearance tasks and keep day-to-day operations simpler and more efficient.

Support regulatory demands

Comply with requirements such as Directive 2011/62/EU through pharma-compliant data flows and reliable serialization processes.

Why Körber

How pre-serialization works

With Körber's pre-serialization service the serialization codes are printed on folding boxes by the packaging supplier using validated processes before delivery.

These pre-serialized materials can then be used on existing packaging lines with little to no equipment changes. Serial numbers are managed through a site-level track and trace system, where codes are scanned, verified, and reported to ensure secure handling, compliance, and accurate product tracking.

This approach supports, you maintain compliance through pharma-compliant data flows while avoiding additional investment in equipment and processes.
