Time jumps
80 years of Körber
From basement workshop to a global technology leader

On 14 July 1946, Kurt A. Körber makes his first sales call from a telephone booth in Hamburg — laying the foundation for today’s Körber Business Area Technologies. From a small workshop, his vision grows into a global success, driven by the MAX filter assembler in 1956.

Close to the customer from day one. The opening of the first international site in Richmond, Virginia, marks the beginning of Körber’s global growth.

For founder Kurt A. Körber, business success and giving back to society go hand in hand. By founding the Körber-Stiftung, he anchors this commitment for the long term.

Two interconnected rings with the name “Körber” at the center become the company’s visual symbol. They reflect the close connection between Körber, its Business Areas, and Körber-Stiftung.

In the 1970s Körber enters new industries and technologies. The founding of Körber AG in 1987 unites all companies under one strategic leadership. Since 1995, Körber AG has consistently guided the company’s overarching goals and strengthened its commitment to innovative and sustained growth.

On 10 August 1992, Kurt A. Körber passes away in Hamburg at the age of 82. From that moment, Körber-Stiftung is the sole shareholder of Körber AG.

With the acquisition of Swiss companies Rondo and Dividella, Körber expands into pharmaceutical packaging. This lays the foundation for today’s Business Area Pharma.

Langhammer, a leading supplier of transport and palletizing systems, joins Körber. A key step in shaping today’s Business Area Supply Chain and expanding our ability to address multifaceted customer needs.

Körber unites its more than 100 sites under a single brand, strengthening its global visibility and identity.

Körber commits to reaching net-zero CO₂e emissions across its value chain by 2040, reinforcing its long-term sustainability ambitions.

With LIFE 2035, Körber introduces the framework for the next decade. It focuses the business on the Life Sciences, Supply Chain and High-Tech industries.
