Körber modernizes and expands Printus' logistics in Offenburg, Germany
As a long-standing partner of Printus, having already modernized the entire outbound goods area in Offenburg in 2020, Körber is implementing a multi-stage approach to the new construction and modernization measures.
Hamburg, Germany, 27.08.2026 – Körber is taking Printus' logistics to a new level. With a major warehouse expansion and targeted retrofit measures, Germany's leading mail-order retailer for commercial office supplies is set for the future.
Thanks to its high-performance logistics, Printus delivers orders from a range of over 100,000 office supplies within 24 hours. To further expand this key competency in a dynamic market environment, the company is making a significant investment in its Offenburg facility, in south-east Germany. As part of its 200-million-euro investment in its new central logistics center, Printus is creating approximately 53,000 square meters of additional logistics space and modernizing key components of the existing facility.
Körber is the general contractor for automation, mechanical systems, and software in this ongoing project. As a long-standing partner of Printus, having already modernized the entire outbound goods area in Offenburg in 2020, Körber is implementing a multi-stage approach to the new construction and modernization measures. This enables virtually uninterrupted parallel operation between the existing and new facilities. The retrofit work is being carried out while operations continue, with renovations scheduled so that logistics availability remains unrestricted at all times. “Together with Printus, Körber is delivering a high‑performance, scalable and future‑ready logistics solution, while operations continue without interruption,” said Dr. Helena Garriga, Körber Executive Board Member and President Business Area Supply Chain.
The new automated logistics center will feature a high-performance shuttle storage system, picking workstations across three levels, and a highly automated packing area. These areas are connected by high-performance conveyor technology with a total length of several kilometers. Körber is also integrating VarioSort electric crossbelt sorters and modern lift-beam units from its own portfolio. Further units in the existing fleet are planned for retrofit.
The project was preceded by several years of intensive planning. “With Körber’s support, we will then have one of the most modern and innovative distribution centers in Europe,” said Dietmar Mahler, Managing Director at Printus Logistik GmbH.
