Supervisory board approves Körber Hamburg new building

The Supervisory Boards of Körber AG and Körber Technologies GmbH have approved investments totaling more than €200 million for the new Körber Technologies GmbH site in the Bergedorf Innovation Park. This marks a decisive milestone for the new location and a clear commitment to Hamburg and Germany as a business hub.

With these decisions, a further key step has been taken to rapidly advance the innovative and future-oriented construction project. “I am very pleased that, thanks to the Supervisory Boards’ positive decisions, we are moving one step closer to the Körber new build in the Hamburg-Bergedorf Innovation Park. The construction of the new site is a clear commitment by Körber to the Technologies business area and to Germany as a business location,” said Körber CEO Stephan Seifert.

Jürgen Spykman, CEO of Körber Technologies GmbH, also emphasized the importance of the project: “The Körber new build will create a modern site where we will continue to deliver on our ‘Outperforming Technologies’ promise to customers. At the same time, the Bergedorf Innovation Park will offer our employees ideal working conditions.”

The Körber Hamburg new build is the first building complex within the new Bergedorf Innovation Park in eastern Hamburg. After the Bergedorf district approved the development plan for the park at the end of 2023, the prerequisites for building permits were established. Following preparatory work on the construction site, work on the access road began in early July, connecting Curslacker Neuer Deich with the new site.

The Körber Hamburg new build will consolidate the company’s existing locations at Kurt-A.-Körber-Chaussee in Bergedorf and in Schwarzenbek. The modern and sustainable facility will comprise nearly 50,000 square meters of space, accommodating administration, development, production, and logistics in line with the latest standards. Completion is scheduled for early 2027.

Uwe Zebrowski, Chairman of the Group Works Council and Works Council Chairman of Körber Technologies GmbH, added: “As employee representatives, it has always been important to us that Körber Technologies GmbH retains its headquarters in Bergedorf and offers long-term prospects for employees here. This has been achieved with the ‘Factory of the Future’ transformation project as a foundation and the launch of the new build in the Bergedorf Innovation Park.”
