PredictX makes predictive maintenance simple and scalable

Arden, Denmark, 02 September 2026. Preventive maintenance of automation equipment is now made simple with a new solution from Körber Supply Chain. The solution, PredictX, automatically sends information to Körber’s service app when equipment deviates from normal operation.

PredictX collects data via an industrial PLC-based IO module that can gather data from various sensor types such as vibration, temperature, and humidity. Over time, the system learns what constitutes normal operation for each individual machine, and when deviations occur, PredictX automatically sends a notification about the event to the service app.

"The technician receives a notification about a specific event that they can directly act upon. An example could be an abnormal vibration at a specific location on the machine. The technician no longer needs to analyze curves and dashboards, but can act proactively without being data experts," says Jan Kristensen, Head of R&D, Körber Business Area Supply Chain.

Practical, cost-effective, and scalable

Körber recently launched Predictive Eye, a camera- and AI-based system for monitoring visual changes in critical and hard-to-reach components. PredictX is part of the same product suite, but has been deliberately developed to be simple, easy to install, and economically attractive, even for smaller warehouses and production environments without the resources for heavy IoT projects.

"Predictive maintenance doesn't have to be about predicting that the blades on a wind turbine need replacing in nine years and four months. With this solution, we bring predictive maintenance down to earth and pull it out onto the warehouse floor. This solution simply sends a notification if you have a drive, a wheel, or a suspension component you need to examine very soon," says Jan Kristensen, emphasizing how easy the solution is to scale:

"With an IO module and a handful of sensors, it's easy to set up and easy to scale. Though PredictX sounds simple, it creates an immense and quick value. It can be set up in minutes, scaled quickly, and alerts you before a small tear becomes a big cause of downtime," he says.

Directly integrated into Körber's digital ecosystem 

Like Predictive Eye, PredictX is part of Körber's Supply Chain Booster platform, which automatically translates sensor data into service events. This means customers don't have to open a complex interface but are notified directly when something requires attention.

Predictive Eye has already demonstrated the value of AI-based condition monitoring at a large American customer, where the system detected critical brake wear on a crane before it led to costly production downtime.

PredictX and Predictive Eye can be used independently or combined for a complete setup covering both visual monitoring and physical condition monitoring.
