Körber partners with Lisure to simplify MES integration in biopharmaceuticals
Partnership streamlines MES integration with automated bioprocess systems, boosting efficiency in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Lüneburg, Germany/Suzhou, China, 28 August 2024. The international technology group Körber has certified Lisure, a specialist in providing total downstream processing solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, as “PAS-X MSI Plug & Produce Ready”.
This new partnership between Körber and Lisure focuses on simplifying the integration of Werum PAS-X MES (Manufacturing Execution System) with Lisure's advanced equipment. The goal is to jointly advance automation and informatization in several areas of the biopharmaceutical field: Pilot scale to large-scale commercial production, one-click production, continuous production, and single-use production.
The partnership firstly enables smooth integration of PAS-X MES to Lisure’s advanced Purification System and Buffer Preparing Center, including their Inline Conditioning Process Chromatography System (ICPC), Chromatography System, and Continuous Buffer Management System (CBMS). The innovative PAS-X MSI Plug & Produce interface from Körber plays a pivotal role in this scenario, as it facilitates the efficient integration of the two systems with a substantial reduction in configuration effort, which marks a significant step forward in automation and efficiency in biopharmaceutical production, benefiting biopharmaceutics and biotherapeutics customers.
ICPC systems, equipped with sophisticated sensors and controls, facilitate real-time monitoring and adjustment of critical parameters. This ensures consistent and reproducible results, significantly enhancing the efficiency and quality of bioprocessing operations. The integration with PAS-X MES streamlines workflows, reduces downtime, and optimizes resource utilization, resulting in superior bioprocessing outcomes.
CBMS automates the traditional labour-intensive process of buffer preparation, ensuring precise measurement and dispensing of components. This automation minimizes human error, enhances process robustness, and boosts GMP compliance. With the integration of PAS-X MES, CBMS offers on-demand buffer preparation, reducing storage needs and increasing productivity through real-time monitoring and traceability.
