We give sustainability a home

Our driving force is the promise to enable a better life for current and future generations through our activities. As a company, we are aware of our responsibility to act sustainably. In this way, we want to make a positive contribution in the interests of our planet. At Körber, the “House of Sustainability” is the basis of the sustainability strategy. It illustrates how comprehensively we have anchored sustainability in our activities.

We have structured our sustainability management along the three dimensions of Environment, Social, and Governance. Our “House of Sustainability” clearly summarizes our focus fields and their subtopics.

As part of the further development of our sustainability management, we included human rights risk management in 2022 and integrated our sustainable products, solutions, and services.

The focus fields play a crucial role in our actions to shape a sustainable future. We have defined aspirations and clear targets for each of these focus fields, as well as measurable key performance indicators (KPIs). This is how we control our measures and check our success. In this way, we are defining our strategic sustainability focus fields at both Group and Business Area level and making our sustainability strategy an integral part of Körber’s corporate strategy.

Environment

We are committed to preserving our planet’s natural resources for future generations. We do this by continuously reducing our CO₂e emissions and energy consumption.

To this end, we aim, among other things, to create a circular economy in which materials can be recycled, reprocessed or reused. In this way, we are reducing waste and saving water — arguably the most valuable resource on our planet. We are also cutting our consumption through optimized water management. To conserve further resources, we are also continuously working to optimize the life cycle of our products. To manufacture new products, we use natural, renewable raw materials wherever possible.

Social

We want to be a fair and attractive employer, because we know that our employees are the key to our success. Their health and safety are our top priority. We attach great importance to a working environment in which everyone feels welcome. We are actively driving forward diversity, equality, and inclusion. We offer individual training measures to support our employees in their professional development. We also promote a mutual feedback culture and are in constant dialog with all colleagues.

It’s important to us to give back to society. That is why we are involved in various projects and initiatives. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships and to work together with society to shape change.

Governance

We follow high ethical standards. Moreover, our compliance rules go beyond the minimum requirements. We use strict control procedures to regularly check compliance with these rules within our organization. We apply the same standards to our partners and suppliers, because sustainable supply chains are a material part of our sustainability strategy.

To ensure that all suppliers in the global flow of goods comply with all environmental and social standards, we conduct regular audits and risk analyses as part of our supply chain management. If risks can be identified, this approach enables us to take countermeasures at an early stage to avoid violations. The focus is on cybersecurity and protection against corruption and bribery.

In addition, we are committed to responsible and transparent information management that ensures the protection of employee and customer data at all times. In order to maintain the integrity of our actions, we strive for long-term partnerships that are based on trust.
