EcoVadis is one of the leading platforms for sustainability ratings and assesses companies in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, sustainable procurement, and ethics. Körber underwent this comprehensive assessment for the third time and, with its gold status, confirms its position as a responsible corporation with high standards in all ESG dimensions (environmental, social, and governance).
"Three years in a row at the top tier of EcoVadis – a strong sign of Körber's sustainable corporate management. This result impressively confirms how determined we are to put our sustainability promise into practice: Our activities enable a better life for current and future generations. It is the daily commitment of our global teams and business partners that makes our ambitions a reality." – Michaela Thiel, Head of Sustainability at Körber
As an international technology group, Körber pursues ambitious sustainability goals and focuses on three key areas: We are reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, we are a fair and attractive employer, and we are shaping responsible supply chains. The progress confirmed by the EcoVadis rating can also be found in the Körber Sustainability Report 2024:
- Environment: Körber reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year and continues to pursue its goal of "net zero by 2040". The introduction of an ESG management software enables more precise control of the greenhouse gas inventory. In addition, eco-design principles were established across the Group, including a guideline for life cycle assessments (LCA). At least one LCA project was successfully implemented in each Business Area.
- Social: As part of the global culture project, 19 employees were trained as "culture coaches". Culture workshops in Porto and Kuala Lumpur strengthened the trust-based corporate culture in 2024 and promoted international exchange.
- Governance: 91 percent of the relevant purchasing volume is covered by ESG self-assessments on the IntegrityNext platform. In addition, over 250 development plans were initiated with suppliers. Scope 3.1 (greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services), both the quality of primary data (directly collected, company-specific consumption and emissions data) was significantly improved and CO₂e emissions were reduced by more than 20 percent.
