Acquisition of Efacec Handling Solutions S.A. by Körber AG concluded

Efacec Handling Solutions is a system integrator and leading provider of automated conveyor technology and storage systems, which is headquartered in Porto, Portugal. The wide range of services and integrated solutions for handling applications includes automated storage and retrieval systems, automated distribution centers, order fulfillment systems and baggage handling systems. What’s more, as a system integrator, the company also implements hardware solutions from its own product portfolio. This includes stacker cranes, miniloads, conveyors, automated guided vehicles, rail guided vehicles, sorting machines and a warehouse management system (WMS).
The company enhances the Business Unit System Integration within the Körber Business Area Logistics Systems above all through its international presence. In addition to the headquarters in Porto, Efacec Handling Solutions also has locations in the Czech Republic, Spain, India and Singapore. The company has around 180 employees.
Prior to the acquisition, Efacec Handling Solutions belonged to the Portuguese Efacec Group. The reason for the sale of the subsidiary to the Körber Group is a strategic reorganization of the Efacec Group.

Das breite Angebot an Dienstleistungen und integrierten Lösungen für Förderanwendungen umfasst unter anderem automatisierte Hochregallager, Distributionszentren, Auftragsabwicklungssysteme und Gepäckabfertigungssysteme. Darüber hinaus implementiert das Unternehmen als Systemintegrator Hardwarelösungen aus dem eigenen Produktportfolio. Zu diesem gehören Regalbediengeräte, Lagerlifts, Bandförderer, fahrerlose Transportfahrzeuge, spurgeführte Fahrzeuge, Sortiermaschinen und ein Lagerverwaltungssystem (LVS).

Das Unternehmen ergänzt den Geschäftsbereich Systemintegration innerhalb des Körber-Geschäftsfelds Logistik-Systeme insbesondere durch seine internationale Präsenz. Neben dem Hauptsitz in Porto verfügt Efacec Handling Solutions über Standorte in der Tschechischen Republik, Spanien, Indien und Singapur. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt rund 180 Mitarbeiter.

Vor dem Erwerb gehörte Efacec Handling Solutions der portugiesischen Efacec Group an. Hintergrund des Verkaufs des Tochterunternehmens an den Körber-Konzern ist eine strategische Neuausrichtung der Efacec Group.
