Pharmaceutical companies face many challenges these days. One of these is ensuring that machines and software solutions within pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production can be operated reliably and professionally by the operators. Avoidable failures cost time and money. On the one hand, this requires employees to be comprehensively trained. However, due to today's high staff turnover, new colleagues must first be trained for the software and machines after onboarding. This can be costly and time-consuming.

Well-trained employees who regularly complete training courses can therefore be an essential advantage for the company in several respects. Inspection and packaging machines as well as software solutions such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or data management systems can be put into operation more quickly and smoothly, and expensive errors can be avoided – especially in times of rapidly developing technologies. Part of the solution can be training courses that are flexible and interactive, which are based on the latest scientific knowledge to keep your employees up to date.

The Academy offers training courses to ensure that companies not only benefit from our Körber solutions but also from the optimised operation of our machines and software solutions, such as the PAS-X Suite, as quickly as possible. Through interactive training sessions, our experts demonstrate the correct execution, maintenance and servicing, thus providing your employees with the specialist knowledge they need to confidently work with our solutions.

There are three different types of training:

Instructor-led

Instructor-led, with an expert at your premises or at one of our locations. Intensive specialist and practical knowledge is the focus here, so that your employees can be placed into operation quickly and confidently, especially with machines.

E-learning courses

Our interactive e-learning courses are the most flexible way to learn, as they are independent of time and place. Your employees learn digitally at their own pace, at any time and from anywhere in the world. These courses are often the ideal preparation for intensive instructor-led training, as they allow you to acquire some basic knowledge. They are more cost-effective and efficient, while also contributing to CO2 savings since there is no need for travel.

Blended learning

Blended learning combines the best of both worlds. Here, e-learning courses prepare and follow on from the instructor-led training, which takes place in person – the ideal learning method for quick and cost-effective familiarization of new employees with the machines or systems.

"Our training courses involve highly complex machines and software solutions. For the training to be successful, we can't overwhelm anyone. That's why we always keep a close eye on the cognitive load and the respective target group – we start with the basics and then gradually increase the complexity."

Julian Busse

Product Owner E-Learning in the Körber Business Area Pharma

Carola Sommer, who studied education and psychology, is a Learning Manager at Körber Business Area Pharma and adds, "Our digital training courses for inspection machines, for example, are all divided into short modules and are 'hands-on'. There are no hours of lecture. Everything is interactive and the learners have to solve specialist tasks themselves. "This is the only way to ensure that what is learned is also remembered.

The course units are completed with a certificate, which is awarded when a minimum number of points have been achieved.

Very convenient: once a training course is completed on the learning platform, they continue to get access for a refresher, whenever needed on site.

When it comes to the e-learning courses, the content is crafted by Learning Managers, who work closely with the Service Technicians and Software Consultants with decades of practical experience. They are the ones who travel to customers and explain the machines and software environments "from the ground up", as Julian Busse puts it. They are the technical experts who know all the challenges and, above all, the customer's needs.
