Körber's new belt conveyor redefines sustainability and efficiency. Through advanced technologies and Körber’s Ecodesign initiative, CO₂e emissions are significantly reduced: 17% in production and 22% during the utilization phase.
The 17% production cut is notable given the high material and logistical effort in manufacturing. The 22% utilization reduction underscores the conveyor’s energy efficiency, crucial for continuous operation and long-term environmental impact. Key to this success is the high-quality semi-elastic belt and meticulous roller and conveyor design. Construction utilizes highly recyclable steel and wood, further minimizing ecological footprint.

K.Handle Layer Picker Mono Gantry 2.0
Automating the handling of mixed pallet loads for greater efficiency
Körber’s new Layer Picker Gantry 2.0 offers significant performance boosts: 38% faster than the previous model, up to 78% faster in certain positions.
Commissioning is quicker, with no elastic parts. Its modular design allows easy disassembly and shipment in standard 40-foot containers, cutting transport costs and CO₂e emissions.
A linear servo system reduces maintenance and regenerates energy during deceleration, powering the picker or feeding the grid. This saves customers approximately 13,000 kWh annually per system, lowering operating costs and core emissions. The Layer Picker Gantry 2.0 enhances performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability for modern supply chains.

Tobacco Dust Amalgamation
Efficient and eco-friendly sheet production
We've developed the Dust Amalgamation process, a sustainable method for producing sheets from fiber and dust. Initially targeting reconstituted tobacco (Recon) for Tobacco Heating Products (THP), it's a sustainable alternative to water-intense paper making.
This innovative process reduces water usage by 15 times compared to traditional methods, significantly cutting energy consumption and CO₂e emissions. With a processing rate of 1000 kg/h, the Tobacco Dust Amalgamation (TDA) process annually saves over 6 million liters of water and 4 million kilowatt-hours of energy, reducing CO₂e emissions by 730 tons. Further applications are feasible across various industries.

Induction heating
Cutting CO₂e with efficient processing
The induction heating technology is a sustainable, electricity-based solution to replace fossil fuels with electricity.
Traditional steam heating is replaced by a more efficient induction technology, which represents a significant step forward in terms of energy savings and CO₂e reduction. Compared to steam heating, it offers improved heating efficiency, more precise temperature control and is also more flexible and quicker to install as it does not require a complex steam distribution system. This also reduces maintenance costs and increases safety in the workplace. The potential CO₂e savings are considerable: the induction-heated tanks could save up to 1.4 kg CO₂e per ton of tobacco.
