Körber ErgoUnload provides semi-automatic parcel handling

Körber's ErgoUnload combines automation and ergonomics to simplify parcel handling and reduce physical workload in logistics operations.

Körber's Ergounload in action at a warehouse full of parcel boxes

Constance, 20 June 2025 – With a new semi-automatic solution for unloading loose loaded trailers, Körber is making one of the most time-consuming, strenuous, and unpopular task in parcel logistics much easier. Unloading time is halved, throughput is more than doubled, and ergonomics are improved.

The Körber ErgoUnload significantly improves the ergonomics and efficiency of the unloading process. While this job currently requires a team of two, and a lot of physical effort, the Körber ErgoUnload enables high throughput rates of up to 3,000 parcels per hour, per dock with just one operator – more than twice as much as with conventional methods. At the same time, physically demanding lifting and twisting movements are reduced, and the lifting force for workers is lowered to around 10 percent of what it was before.

Compatible and flexible

The Körber ErgoUnload is a compact, semi-automatic unloading solution with variable load acceptance in the form of easy-to-operate flaps at different heights and integrated conveyor technology. The system is compatible with all common telescopic conveyors. It is positioned in front of the telescope in the trailer without any additional installation work and is immediately ready for use.

Less lifting or twisting

Individual parcels or multiple pieces of freight can then be fed into the system at high speed by just one person with minimal twisting or lifting. Hard-to-reach parcels can be fed in using optional gripping support. This significantly speeds up the unloading process and minimizes physical strain on workers.

Reduces personnel, time, and cost

Thanks to the high speed of the unloading process and minimal setup time for the system, the Körber ErgoUnload shortens unloading cycles at the dock by up to 50 percent. New facilities can be planned with fewer docks, and existing ramps can be used more efficiently. At the same time, the unloading activity itself is easier and more ergonomic – with lower personnel requirements.

“Körber ErgoUnload not only improves ergonomics and performance – it’s also a good example of how innovative automation solutions can address major challenges such as personnel, time, and cost,” says Oliver Kaufmann, Product Manager at Körber.
