Environmentally friendlier travel

Our commitment:

It’s not only machines that consume energy — business trips also contribute significantly to the pollution of our atmosphere with CO₂. That's why we're converting our fleet of company cars to electric vehicles and only travel when really necessary. To this end, we are also continuously expanding the digital world of work. The coronavirus pandemic in particular has shown that this is possible without causing our work or business to suffer.

Goal:

We want to travel with a green conscience.

What we have planned:

In the years ahead, every combustion engine model in our fleet of company cars is to be successively replaced by an electric vehicle. With our own charging infrastructure at all respective Körber locations, we will ensure that the vehicles are always ready for use in the future. However, the most sustainable way to travel is not to travel at all. Business trips should generally be reduced and only undertaken if they cannot be avoided. If a trip is unavoidable, we will produce as little CO₂ as possible and switch from planes to trains.

What we have achieved to date:

  • New fleet policy: The proportion of electric cars in our fleet was five percent in 2020, and we were able to record an increase to 6.5 percent at the end of 2021.
  • Expansion of charging stations: 103 charging stations at 19 locations by the end of 2022
  • New travel guideline: Only unavoidable journeys are permitted, where sustainable travel must be a priority (e.g. use of trains with a travel time of up to five hours and the existence of a suitable rail network)
  • Number of company vehicles with electric drive/number of all company vehicles
  • Number of installed charging stations at locations with electric company vehicles/number of required charging stations at locations with electric company vehicles
  • Business travel expenses (in millions of €)
  • Company fleet to consist exclusively of electric cars by 2025
  • The required charging stations are being set up in parallel at the relevant locations
  • The travel budget will be reduced by a third compared to the base year 2019
  • 6.5% electric vehicles
  • 89 charging stations
  • The adjusted travel budgets are being adhered to
